Legal Nurse Consultant / Nurse Paralegal
Dr. Patricia Brock, PhD, MSN, LNCC, CLCP, CNLCP
Dr. Brock brings a wealth of clinical medical experience spanning over 40 years to assist the clients of Czelusta Law in medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, and personal injury cases. Dr Brock started her career in 1981 as a staff nurse on a medical surgical unit and she was quickly promoted to the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, and in the Open -Heart Recovery Unit. Dr. Brock later became a Nurse Manager in an Intensive and progressive care unit at a large Florida acute care hospital. While working a nurse, Dr. Brock advanced her medical training by obtaining Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Indiana Wesleyan University in nursing and nursing education. She continued her nursing education further by earning her PhD in nursing with her dissertation titled “Nurse Perceptions of Facility Influences on Older Adult Acute Care Falls©” being published online. Dr. Brock has also taught future nurses at Daytona State College, where she instructed final semester nursing students in clinical rotations in the hospital as well as in the classroom setting. She remains academically active in teaching at Daytona State College in the training of final semester nursing students as needed.
Dr. Brock also brings to Czelusta Law significant knowledge and experience in medical malpractice and injury litigation. She earned her certification as a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant in 2012 and a Certified Nurse Life Care Planner in 2013. She has also taught legal nurse consulting classes for Duke University for 12 years covering all areas related to teaching nurses how to best assist lawyers in litigation surrounding medical malpractice cases. Since then, Dr. Brock has been sought out by lawyers in injury litigation to testify as an expert witness in the field of nursing and life care planning.
Through this training and experience, Dr. Brock has amassed extensive medical legal experience in reviewing and analyzing medical records, planning technical / medical strategy in preparing for depositions and trial testimony, and assisting our firm in identifying medical issues for our clients. Her medical knowledge and experience provides Czelusta Law with an edge in case analysis and strategy that many other law firms lack, and she is ready to help you in your time of need.
Paralegal
Madyson Kondrat
Madyson brings a unique and diverse background to the legal field, combining years of hands-on experience in healthcare with a strong academic foundation in legal studies and public policy.
Originally from Illinois, Madyson earned an Associate of Science degree from Illinois Central College in 2017. She began her professional career in healthcare, working as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the Neurology Unit at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. In 2019, she relocated to Florida, where she continued her healthcare career at Tampa General Hospital on the transplant floor. That same year, she transitioned into a surgical tech role focused on pain management—a position she held for five years.
Driven by a long-standing passion for the law, Madyson made a pivotal career shift after her daughter started school. In 2021, she enrolled at St. Petersburg College, where she earned both her Associate of Arts degree and a Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies and Public Policy. Her unique blend of healthcare experience and legal education allows her to bring a compassionate, detail-oriented, and analytical approach to her work in the legal field.
Currently, Madyson is a vital part of our legal team, assisting with case preparation, legal research, and client support. She plans to continue advancing her legal career by attending law school in the fall of 2026.
Paralegal and Lead Investigator
Michelle DeSmith
Recently retired from law enforcement with over 21 years of dedicated service, Michelle brings a wealth of experience in criminal investigations and courtroom procedures. Throughout her career, she has investigated a wide range of cases including fraud, traffic crashes, sexual batteries, child abuse, elderly abuse, and various property crimes. Her extensive fieldwork has been complemented by a strong working knowledge of the Court system, having spent significant time testifying in hearings and trials.
She holds a master’s degree in criminal justice from Saint Leo University and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of South Florida.
Now retired from law enforcement, Michelle brings her extensive investigative experience and courtroom insight to support the legal field. Her understanding of criminal cases, evidence procedures, and trial preparation, combined with her strong interviewing and documentation skills make her a valuable support to our team.
